RUNNING HAS
NO BORDERS

WHY WE EXIST.

In their time of need, refugees who are displaced from their countries and arrive in the UK are unable to rebuild their lives.

They are given less than £10 per week to live. They are banned from working. They are not integrated into society and they are left alone to suffer with the horrendous traumas that forced them to leave their country.

Officially, 1 in 5 develop mental health problems but our experience is it’s nearly 100% who are suffering.

WHAT WE DO.

We create localised running communities for refugees and asylum seekers.

We have seen that being part of a running community can transform refugee’s mental health:

  • Running gives them a passion.

  • Running gives them friendship.

  • Running gives them health.

RUNS + PARK RUNS

We host regular runs for each of groups. Often this is a Saturday morning park run but some groups have track sessions, some do long runs. We welcome runners of every ability because running should have no borders.

EXPERIENCES

We take our runners on once in a lifetime experiences to race’s around the country. From Alton Towers to the Lake District to big city races; we turn these trips into experiences they’ll never forget.

KIT

We source quality new and second hand shoes and kit; including the now famous Refugee Run Club tee shirts. We work with brands and organisations to donate well needed kit to the team.

Coaching

We provide every refugee with lifetime access to the Coopah training app, which gives them personalised running plans to help keep them motivated to continue to run and be part of the club.

Community

We set up regular meet-ups for our local communities; sometimes we run, sometimes we dance, sometimes we meet for food but we create long-lasting friendships and support groups.

SUPPORT US 〰️

  • DONATE

To give our refugees access to running they need kit, transport to training and events and food and drink. We have no staff, no office and no operational expenses - every penny goes to the refugees.

  • DONATE KIT

Our members don’t have any running kit and without it they can’t join in our activities. We rely on donations from individuals, running clubs and brands. We are looking for running shoes, running shorts / leggings, running jackets / long sleeve tops and tee shirts / vests. All kit must be in good condition, but it can be used.

Let us know what kit you can provide
and we will arrange a collection.

  • Volunteer

We are always looking for people to help with transport, cooking food, coaching and befriendng or mentoring our members.

If you feel you can help with an existing club or want to help start a new one then please get in touch.
